Fan Works Guidelines

Fan Works Guidelines

This English text is a reference translation. If the two versions differ, the Japanese version prevails.

Introduction

ProjectBLUE Inc. has written these guidelines so that fans can enjoy the content that comes out of Puroburu Production even more, and can create fan works with confidence. As long as your work follows these guidelines, you do not need to contact us about it individually.

What counts as a fan work

Individuals and groups without corporate status may freely create, distribute and sell fan works based on our content (fanzines, fan goods, digital works and the like), as long as the purpose is non-commercial as Puroburu Production defines it below.

Companies and organisations with corporate status that wish to create fan works should contact us in advance through the form on this site or at info@pjblue.jp.

Please also note that our talents may use your fan works as stream thumbnails, or feature them in their social media activity.

Examples of fan works

Drawing, exhibiting, posting on social media, distributing and streaming original illustrations (for example posting an illustration you drew yourself on social media)

Making, exhibiting, distributing and streaming fanzines and digital fan works

Posting fan works based on our content on creator fan-community services

Making, exhibiting and streaming cosplay costumes

Distributing, exhibiting, screening and publishing cosplay photos and videos online

Use in official content

We may use fan works posted on social media on the platform accounts we run. We do not contact you before doing so.

If we later find a breach of these guidelines or another problem, we may remove the work at our discretion.

What is not allowed

The following fan activities are not allowed.

Anything that claims to be official, or that could be mistaken for official

Anything with no creative input, or very little — for example copying, scanning, sampling or tracing our material (illustrations, video, audio, music and so on) directly. If you are thinking of using official material, please ask us first.

Anything against public order and decency, or anti-social in nature

Anything containing a particular ideology, creed, religious or political content

Anything that seriously damages the image of our talents, of Puroburu Production, or of Puroburu Production content

Anything that harms the honour or dignity of a third party, or infringes a third party's rights

Anything that does not comply with applicable laws and regulations, or with the terms of the platform you are using

Anything prohibited individually by a game's rules or by a talent's own rules

Anything else Puroburu Production judges to be inappropriate

Please also note

When you create fan works, we ask you to keep the following in mind.

Please consider how our talents feel, and avoid creating work that a talent would find upsetting.

Please keep it within fan activity and personal interest. If the work could be considered commercial, or is used by a company (including work under an individual's name where a company covers the production costs), please contact us.

As stated above, we do not normally hand out official material. If there is clear promotional value, or the work can contribute to official activity, permission may be possible, so please ask us.

The copyright in data, goods and other works that we distribute officially belongs to us. Please do not sell or redistribute them.

In closing

We hope you will follow these guidelines and the usual courtesies, and enjoy creating as freely as possible. We are looking forward to seeing sides of Puroburu Production's content that we have not seen ourselves.

Thank you for continuing to support our talents and Puroburu Production.
